Inside Kaitlin Doubledays Bachelorette Party: Photos

Later, gators! Kaitlin Doubleday headed to New Orleans for her bachelorette party weekend on Friday, April 1, and Us Weekly has the exclusive details on the alligator tour, strip club visit and late night dance parties!

“New Orleans is like my favorite city in the world. I did my first movie here at 18, and it’s the most amazing place to party in,” the Empire actress, 31, told Us of her getaway before her May wedding to fiancé Devin Lucien. Her sister, Mr. Robot actress Portia Doubleday, helped organize the unforgettable weekend in Louisiana with eight of Kaitlin’s closest friends.

On Friday night, the group dined in a private room at Creole-style restaurant Atchafalaya and partied all night on the famous Frenchmen Street before heading back to their rooms at the Windsor Court Hotel. “When we got back to the hotel we’d have cartwheel lessons and late night dance parties at the hotel,” Kaitlin said.

The next day the crew ventured out to the swamp for a boat tour with New Orleans Paddlewheels. “The guy couldn’t find any alligators all morning,” she said. “Then he spotted this teeny little alligator in the bayou, and I couldn’t believe he even found it! We got to pass around the baby alligator. It was so fun!” After a day on the water, they dressed up for dinner and drinks at Commander’s Palace.

The weekend wouldn’t have been complete without some classic bachelorette party activities too: gambling at Harrah’s Hotel and Casino and a trip to the male strip club, Bourbon Bad Boys. “My friends bought a lot of pricey lap dances for me that were super inappropriate,” Kaitlin told Us. “It was like a very gritty, but fun strip club … My sister was dancing around the pole at the strip club because she took pole dancing for three years at Crunch Gym.”

The group topped off the trip by going on a ghost tour and checking out all the crazy costumes in a parade in the 7th Ward section of the city. “The parade was such a block party with people selling Jell-O shots from their porches and people had full bars set up in their pickup trucks,” the bride-to-be told Us. “It was unbelievable.”

Lucien popped the question to the Catch Me If You Can actress in Paris last May. The DJ surprised Doubleday after she returned from the 2015 upfronts in New York City. “While she was away he got everything in order,” a source previously told Us of the proposal. The couple has been together for more than three years.
