Lake County Sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr. charged a Merrillville man with murder for beating a 36-year-old woman to death in her Winfield home last month.

Martinez confirmed Monday night that Raju K. Rawal, 65, was arrested for allegedly killing Haley Losinski in the 11000 block of Pike Place, west of Randolph Street.

"She was a friend, an amazing ICU nurse, and we are all sad and miss her so much," said Crown Point co-worker Leah Hasza.
